The first picture taken of Elder Jesse Guy Carter to welcome him to the California Los Angeles Mission.
3 Nephi 5:13
Behold I am a disciple of Jesus Christ the Son of God.
I have been called of him to declare his work among his people that they might have everlasting life.

The Last Days

Well Jesse has been really busy in the MTC (he got there on November 3rd) so he hasn't had much time to blog. Plus I don't know if they even let you blog in the MTC, and he couldn't remember his log in and password to be able to log on to the MTC computers. So I guess I will catch up for him. (This is Hillary, by the way).
So after the farewell we had a big luncheon at the house and tons of people came to say bye.
Mitchel, Kade, Jesse, and Lance.
Kay, Kolten, Jesse, Mom
When everyone had left from the luncheon we all headed over to Zion Photography to have a few family pictures taken before the mish.
Jesse and his nieces and nephews (except Deklan)
The whole family
Just the boys
After pictures we came back home and opened a few presents and then said a few good-byes.
The next day Jesse was set apart and was supposed to head up north to do a few things there before going to the MTC. But everyone couldn't get away that early so he just hung out for a day, did some final errands, and went to lunch with a couple work buddis and then headed up the next day.
Tuesday Jesse and his parents did a session in the Salt Lake Temple while Kenny hung out in the visitor center. Then they spent the night at Wolf Creek.
Then on Wednesday morning Jesse got dropped off at the MTC. They haven't let family go into the MTC since the whole Swine Flu thing, so everyone just said goodbye at the car.
Jesse LOVED the MTC. He left for Los Angeles November 24th the day before Thanksgiving.

Farewell to All!

The friday before my farewell departure, I finally decided to start the speech.  It felt pretty easy to write my talk for the most part.  Once I decided to write it, I felt like I got inspiration for the talk.  Even as I mowed the lawn, ideas for my talk kept coming to my head.  I partied with my friends for the last time saturday night.  Sunday came and I started getting pretty nervous for speech time.  I went to Jackson Carter's farewell at 9 am than went to mine right after that.  Jackson is leaving for Germany on November 17th.  Taylor Ottenbacher's farewell was the same time as mine so unfortunately I was unable to attend his.  But as I sat in the nice comfy seats, I watched as people came in.  Particularly the females:) The time came for me to get up and speak, and sure enough, Heavenly Father helped me out and I was no longer nervous.  My talk went well and lots of people told me it was entertaining.  After saying many goodbyes to my friends, I made my way to Jackson's house for his lunch in.  I said more good byes there as well.  Two o clock rolled around and my lunch in was ready, so I came on over!  There were tons of people that came over wishing me the best luck!  It was awesome talking to everyone and remenising about old times.  I said even MORE goodbyes.  It was a long day, quite stressful, but it was an awesome experience having the opportunity to speak in church and seeing so many people supporting me.  My friends and family are most definitely the best!!!

My first trip to the Temple!

I took out my endowments at the St. George temple October 8th, 2010.  It was nice having my family there supporting me.
